Pear Syrup

This recipe features our fresh Oregon pears from Kiyokawa Family Orchards available every fall! 🍐

This recipe makes one 12 oz jar. Add it to your soda, cocktails, ice cream, tea, pancakes and more!

Ingredients

  • 4 smaller Pears
  • 1 ½ Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Slice pears into ½ inch pieces.
  2. Add water, sugar, kosher salt, lemon juice and pears to a pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Turn the heat down to a simmer, cook until pears begin to break apart, about 15 minutes.
  4. Carefully strain hot syrup through a fine mesh strainer.
  5. Stir in vanilla.
  6. Cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
