This recipe from @JennaFreshAndFit features our Oregon pears from Kiyokawa Family Orchards available every October. π
Ingredients
- 6 ripe pears, (mixed variety)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butterΒ
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juiceΒ
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla bean paste or extractΒ
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packedΒ
- 1 tsp cinnamonΒ
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamomΒ
- 1/4 tsp sea saltΒ
- 1/8 tsp nutmegΒ
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cardamom
- 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Peel and core pears. Slice pears ΒΌ – Β½ inch thick.Β
- Melt butter in the bottom of a medium pot. Add pears, lemon juice, vanilla bean, brown sugar and spices to the pot. Stir gently to coat pears.Β
- Continue to cook, stirring regularly for 10-15 minutes, until liquid thickens and pears are soft. Cool mixture until warm. Serve or store in an airtight jar in refrigerator.
